Professional Statement

Kenneth H. Cohen MD, FACC, FASE, FASNC founded the practice in 1987 with the late Drs. Mark J. Friedman and Steven J. Engrassia.  He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital, 1981-1984, where he served as Chief Medical Resident in 1986-1987.  He completed his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at SUNY Downstate in 1986.  Dr. Cohen is Board certified in Internal Medicine/Cardiovascular Diseases/Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography.  His areas of special interest include: Valvular Heart Disease, Heart Failure and Coronary Artery Disease, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology

Dr. D’Agostino joined the practice in 1993.  He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 1989, and then served as Chief Medical Resident from 1992-1993.   He also completed his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 1992.  He is Board certified in Internal Medicine/Cardiovascular Disease/Nuclear Cardiology/Echocardiography and Vascular Diagnostic Testing.  His special interests are in Nuclear Cardiology, Atherosclerotic Vascular Disease and Valvular Heart Disease.

Dr. Gomez joined the practice in 1996.  He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center in 1993, and his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 1996.  Dr. Gomez is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Nuclear Cardiology.  He holds a special interest in Congestive Heart Failure, Cardiomyopathy and Nuclear Cardiology.

Dr. Gregory Ackert joined the practice in 2004.  He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 1981 and his Gastroenterology Fellowship there in 1983.  He served as Chief Resident at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 1984. He is Board certified in Gastroenterology and is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American Gastroenterology Association and the New York State Medical Society.
